A photocopy of a section of a plan shows a hotel facing the Edinburgh and Glasgow turnpike road; Disposition by the Broxburn Oil Company Limited in favour of Scottish Oils Limited, handwritten, dated 1922, covering the lands at Middleton on the south side of Main Street Uphall. No plan included; Disposition by Sir David McCowan and others as Trustees ut intus in favour of Young's Paraffin Light and Mineral Oil Company Ltd, typed, dated 1934, concerning various lands held by Young's Paraffin Light and Mineral Oil Company Ltd. Citing earlier transfers of land ownership at Broadyett, Breichmill, Polbeth, Bogside and Inchcross at dates ranging from 1865 to 1906.
