Minute of Agreement between Robert Bell Esq. Coal Master Broxburn and William Kennedy Esq. Oil Merchant Glasgow on behalf of The Broxburn Oil Company Ltd; The Lease is signed 15th and 19th October 1877 by Robert Bell and William Kennedy. The Lease consists of 67 pages and has the writing of more than one clerk with a number of margin notes and ammendments in red ink with a Paper Apart (page 26) also written in red ink. There is attached a plan titled "Plan referred to in Stewartfield No. 1 Agreement dated 1889. A letter attached to the Plan from Robertson Laird Civil and Mining Engineers dated 14 November 1895, states that it is a Copy of the Excerpts from the Feu Contract and building Lease relating to working the shalepillars under Stewartfield feu. The Plan has a Scale of Feet 3inches= 400feet and another Scale of Chains shown in links and chains. Page 133
