Description
Minute of Agreement between Scottish Oils Limited and Whatlings Limited for the extraction of Upper and Mid Dunnet Shale and Blaes at Livingston. Dated 9th December 1953. Details the conditions of the agreement by which Scottish Oil Limited has employed Whatlings Limited to extract suitable quality shale from the Upper and Mid Dunnet and blaes to enable a total quantity of five hundred and thirty thousand tones to be retorted. This involves creating a diversion dam in the River Almond (shown in attached plan). Included is a plan of Livingston Quarries propsed extensions showing where the River Almond would be diverted to and includes a schedule of operations noted at the side. Site plan of old and proposed workings. Dated 29th October 1953. The scale of the plan is 1inch=132ft.
