Description
Black and white digital image of photograph of miners returning from the day shift at Duddingston Mine to Niddry Castle Oil Works. The men are sitting on top of the shale wagons being transported by the electric locomotive Oakbank No 1 or 2? on the Winchburgh Electric Railway. Engine driver is William (Ogie) Watson. Two locomotives were built by Baldwin of Philadelphia, USA in 1902. Each had two 25hp motors and operated via a trolley pole from an overhead 500V DC supply
