Description
Minute of Agreement between Scottish Oils Limited and Whatlings Limited for the extraction of shale and blaes at Livingston Mill. Dated 18th February, 1949. Details the conditions for Scottish Oils Limited employing Whatlings Limited to extract from Dunnet shale and blaes of a suitable quality to retort up to a maximum depth of sixty feet and a total quantity of six hundred thousand tons. Included is a plan with shows the area referred to in the agreement, shows Mid Lothian with diversion of River Almond. It contains a key which shows county and parish boundary lines, fence lines, site limits and limit shale excavations. Scale of plan is 1and 1/2 inch = 200ft.
