Scottish Shale Oil Workers' Joint Board, Agreement Re War Bonus, 14th April 1917. The minutes of a meeting of representatives of the Scottish Mineral Oil Association and the Scottish Shale Oil Workers' Joint Board. Agreement details discussions between the Scottish Mineral Oil Association and the Scottish Shale Oil Workers Joint Board over the issue of whether the surface workers at shale mines were entitled to an increase of 1/- per shift as there current wages do not meet the current increase in cost of living due to the war. The Companies refused to pay the increase of 1/- per shift, but instead offered an increase of 6d, to which the Scottish Shale Oil Workers Joint Board stated they felt this was not enough and requested that at least 8d be considered. After further dicussions, an increase of 6d was accepted by the Scottish Shale Oil Workers Joint Board. Dated 14th April, 1917. Typed document.
