Old pictures of Blackridge

BLACKRIDGE is a small hamlet in Torphichen parish, and an agricultural district on the Edinburgh and Glasgow road, a mile north-west from Westcraigs station on the Edinburgh and Glasgow section of the North British railway and 5 west from Bathgate. Several coal fields in the vicinity afford employment to the inhabitants. The population in 1901 was 707.
