RETIRAL OF MR ALEXANDER BUCHANAN. DUNDEE.
Mr. Fraser reported that Mr. Alexander Buchannn, at present Joint Branch Manager in Dundee, has expressed his wish to retire from service. Mr. Buchanan is now in his 70th year, and for the long period of 52 years has been in the service of the Scottish Mineral Oil Trade. He joined The Broxburn Oil Company, Ltd. on its formation in 1877, for many years acting as its Sales Manager, and in 1919 was appointed Manager of the Dundee Area or The Scottish Oil Agency, Ltd. He has carried out his duties in a most efficient manner.
Mr. Fraser recommended that The Broxburn Oil Company, Ltd. , in whose employment he had served for the greater part of the period, should be asked to grant him a retiring allowance of £250 per annum, to which the Board agreed. This allowance along with his interest in the Anglo-Persian Provident Fund Trust, it is estimated, will give him a total of £331 per annum.
