The following bails, in respect of non-appearance, were declared forfeited at the Bathgate Burgh Police Court - Bailie Samuel presiding - 7s 6d by Michael Lavin, miner, residing at Whitburn Road, for using obscene language in Engine Street, on Saturday, 31st October; and 7s 6d by Michael Foy, labourer, 46 Russell's Row, for a similar offence committed in Engine St. on Saturday, 31st October.

DEATHS
LAVIN - At Bangour Hospital on 21st September, 1963, Michael Lavin, aged 81 years, beloved husband of Annie Lavin, 35 Abercorn Place, Winchburgh. R.I.P.

BEREAVEMENT
On Saturday of last week, Mr Michael Lavin of Abercorn Place passed away in Bangour Hospital, having been ill there for some weeks. Mick, as he was known to all the villagers, had worked, until his retirement, with the Oakbank Oil Company. His funeral took place on Monday morning after Requiem Mass in St. Philomena Church. Sympathy is extended to his widow and family.
