    A digital scan of a photograph envelope which contained 'Happy Snaps' from the Glasgow Empire Exhibition in 1938. Also includes an image of the slip which provided the number of the photograph taken for retrieval. The Happy Snap Stand was in Colonial Avenue, opposite Victoria Falls Entrance. People could purchase postcard sized copies of their photographs for 1/- each, 4 for 2/6. They also ran a competition where people could win £10 if they recognised their photo in the lucky frame.

This was subsequently owned and operated by donors father (business side) and uncle (mechanic side) and was then called Gardner and Hope. Gardner was believed to be a silent partner. When donors father died, the uncle continued the business for a while but eventually sold it due to ill health. Image shows a car with license plate UW 3463 parked in garage forecourt. This car was registered in Greater London between 1903-1932. There are two other cars parked in the forecourt. There are men and women gathered around teh cars at the petrol pumps all looking at the camera. There is a shell lampost at the entrance to the forecourt and the pumps have BP, Shell, and 'Scotch' thistle which relates to Avery and Hardall pumps dating c.1936. Donors uncle is the man standing in front of Pratts petrol pump and his father is next to the woman in the hat at the rear of the car with UW 3463 as its license.
