Description
B&W negative copied in 1990 from official albums then held at Grangemouth refinery.
Oil shale was particularly rich in wax and Scottish Oils Ltd produced large quantities of block wax at their Pumpherston refinery. This was used for candle making at Broxburn, or was sold for manufacture of matches, for waterproofing paper, textiles and leather, for grease-proof packaging for food, for electrical insulation and many other purposes.
