Description
B&W negative copied in 1990 from official albums then held at Grangemouth refinery.
This view shows the two timber head frames of the pit with staging on the upcast shaft housing screens. Clean shale was loaded into hutches for transport to the oil works by over ground haulage, the waste loaded into hutches and discharged on the waste bing to the right. There was no standard-gauge rail link to this pit.
