Shale miner's electric safety cap lamp and battery pack. Concordia type. Alloy battery case housing a 3 cell alkaline tubular battery unit with rubber sheathed cable to lamp, c 1950.

  • Made in England and supplied by Concordia Electric Safety Lamp Company Ltd, Cardiff.
  • The electric safety cap lamp belonged to Stephen McLachlan, formerly of 7 Castle Road, Winchburgh who was a shale miner in the Hopetoun and Niddry mines
  • This type of lamp was used by facemen and drawers and provided a wide beam
