GOLDEN WEDDING

Mr and Mrs Patrick Breslin celebrated their golden wedding at Winchburgh on Sunday night, Father Kenny officiating. They were married in 1890 by the Rev. James Connelly, parish priest of County Tyrone, Ireland, in the parish of Urney. They had ten of a family, seven sons and three daughters, eight of whom are still living. They have also ten grandchildren. Mr Breslin is 78 years old and Mrs Breslin 67, and both still enjoy the best of health. They have resided for 42 years in Winchburgh. There were 40 guests present at the celebrations, and Mr and Mrs Breslin were the recipients of many silver and money gifts. Mr Breslin was employed by the Scottish Oils Ltd., and was for 14 years in the employment of Dougal's Brickwork Company, Winchburgh. Mr and Mrs Breslin are very well known throughout the district and respected by the whole community.

OBITUARY

The death of Mr Patrick Breslin, aged 85 years, took place at his home, 79 Midhope Place, Winchburgh, last Thursday. Mr Breslin was one of the oldest residents in Winchburgh. He came to Winchburgh about 50 years ago and for the first eleven years was employed in Mr Dougal's brick work. Mr Breslin then went to Oakbank Oil Co., Winchburgh, and was in their service until he retired 13 years ago. He and his family are well known and respected throughout the entire district. He is survived by his wife, six sons and two daughters. His six sons acted as pall-bearers. Father Murnin officiated at the funeral service. The funeral took place to Winchburgh Cemetery on Sunday when there was a very large tournout of relatives and friends. The sympathy of the villagers goes out to Mrs Breslin and the family in their sad bereavement.
