FATAL ACCIDENT
While James Boshell, aged 21, was cycling home from his work in Edinburgh, where he is employed as a joiner, he met with a fatal accident. It appears Boshell was involved in a collision with a furniture van on the Edinburgh-Broxburn Road, near Ratho Station Road. He was rushed to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, suffering from severe head injuries, to which he succumbed about an hour after admission. Boshell was the son of Mr and Mrs James Boshell, 23 Easter Road, Broxburn, and nephew of Mr John McCann, J.P. The tragic death of the lad has cast gloom over the village, where he was so well known and highly esteemed.
