Drumshoreland Road level crossing

Parish:
Midcalder, Midlothian
Opened:
1884
Closed:
post-1962

A single line of standard gauge rails crossing Drumshoreland road close to the road entrance to Pumpherston oil works.

A plan dated 1890 indicates that the line was intend to link to the North British Railway Camps branch at a point north of the works and forming a continuous route through the oil works linking back to the Camps branch. This through route is not shown on the 1895 OS map, instead the crossing seems to have served a dead-end siding on a waste tip.
