    A single line of standard gauge rails crossing Polbeth road obliquely just east of Gavieside village.

    The line was constructed c.1904 to link the Young's company mineral line to the Polbeth pits with the new Gavieside No.40 pit, which was subsequently extended to Alderstone No.43 pit. Both had a short working life, and the line was closed c.1928.
