VALUABLE ESTATE AND MINERAL FIELD.

To be Exposed to Sale by Public Roup, on Wednesday the 4th day of May 1859. within the Salerooms of Messrs Cay & Black, No. 65 George Street, Edinburgh, at Three o’clock afternoon—The LANDS and ESTATE BIRKENSHAW, lying within the Parish of Torphichen, and County of Linlithgow. This Property situated about Three miles west the Town of Bathgate, near the Village of Armadale, and half-way between Glasgow and Edinburgh. The Lands extend to about 140 Imperial Acres, whereof there are five or six under plantation, &c. There is also on the Lands a Lint Mill in full operation. . The Minerals within the Property are. very rich and valuable. The Estate is almost wholly Coalfield, containing Boghead or Torbanehill Gas Coal, associated with several seams of Common Coal, with Blackband, Clayhand, and Ball Ironstone, all of which are being wrought close two sides of the Property. Various Railways run in close proximity to the Property, affording the readiest means of transport for Minerals. Mr John Waugh, Tenant at Birkenshaw, will point out the Boundaries; and printed particulars, giving more complete, details, will be furnished on application to Messrs Mackenzie, limes, & Logan, W.S., 23 Queen Street, Edinburgh.
