The Coppa Oil Co. was a private company, created to take forward the interests of the Coppa Oil Co. Ltd. following dissolution of that company in 1871. Partners Mathias Royce Griffin and Thomas Short the younger were previously directors of the limited company.

    • NOTICE is hereby given, that the Partnership heretofore subsisting between us the undersigned, Matthias Royce Griffin, Thomas Short the younger, and John Thompson, carrying on business under the style or firm of the Coppa Oil Company, as Oil Manufacturers, at Coppa Oil Works, Padeswood, near Mold, in the county of Flint, was dissolved, by mutual consent, on and from the 2nd day of January instant. All debts and liabilities of the late partnership will be received and paid by the undersigned John Thompson who will henceforth carry on the said business on his own account. Dated the 3rd day of January, 1877.
