The first Dee Oil Co. Ltd (incorporated in 1888 as successor to the Dee Oil Company) was wound up 1891. The firm continued as a going concern while in receivership and launched as a new limited company; also known as the Dee Oil Company, in 1894. The firm adapted well to changing times, developing brands of motor oil, and diversifying into the manufacture of soaps and medicinal products. The Dee Oil Co. Ltd. was liquidated in 1933 and its interests restructured. A company titled "Dee Oil Holdings Ltd." continued in existence until 1978.
