The firm of Hardman & Sharett. are listed in the 1865 coal commision list of works, but do not appear in 1868 Slater's trade directory. Nothing is known of their operations at "Tryddu", in the North Wales oil district.

The company seems to have been proprietor of the Milton Oil Works in Milton, North Staffordshire in 1864.
