A small oil works, identified only as "oil works" on the first edition (1872) OS map, seemingly consisting of a single bench of retorts. This site, immediately adjacent to the L&NWR Tryddn branch, lay about a third of a mile east of Tryddyn Vale Cannel Pits.

Mapped by the Ordnance Survey of c.1872, showing oil works.

Number of retorts: Not known.
